How do i tell if my motherboard will accept a PCI x16 video card?

Requires:

# PCI Express -compliant motherboard with one vacant

# PCI Express x16 slot

# Minimum of a 350 Watt power supply.

(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 18 Amp Amps.)

# Minimum 400 Watt for SLI mode system.

(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 20 Amp Amps.)

Do I have to open my tower to look, and is it usually marked?|||well common-sense would say you goto to dell website and bring up its technical specs which can be view at http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/SY… since when posting a model number make sure its the full number

as for your question:

PCI Express connector one x1 connector size 36 pins connector data width (maximum) 1 PCI Express lane so yes you can install the card, but you'll need to change the power supply since its only got a crap Wattage 230 Wattage power supply.|||Sorry, this computer only has a PCI-e x1 and standard PCI slots.|||Look up the specs of you dell dimension DV051 at the Dell site...
