How much faster will a higher end video card perform if the motherboard has a PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot?

As opposed to a basic 1.0 (or 1.1)? Is it a major difference percentage wise?|||none. The only card which can forseeably use ALL the throughput of even a PCIE 1.0 slot is the upcoming Nvidia GT 300.|||No,not noticeably faster, kind of like a minor processor upgrade.|||http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express

Look down at the section entitled "SPEED".|||the difference in bandwidth between 1.0 and 2.0 looks like a lot but its really not.....you would never notice the difference in real world apps....benchmarks may show the difference but thats about it.....

In PCIe 1.x , each lane carries 250 MB/s. PCIe 2.0, released in late 2007, adds a Gen2-signalling mode, doubling the rate to 500 MB/s. PCIe 3.0, currently in development (for release around 2010), will add a Gen3-signalling mode, at 1 GB/s

Scott|||Not significantly faster; you might lose a few frames here and there, but it's not significant at all.
