Is PCI Express x16 expansion slot compatible with a PCI Express 2.0 x16 card?

i want to get this video card:

the card is PCI Express 2.0 x16, does this mean it will not work with the PCI Express x16 expansion port on the motherboard?

The 2.0 interface was to curve a possible bottleneck that was appearing the the late 4 series ATI cards and the late 200 series Nvidia Cards, with the card you are buying you won't be close to the bandwidth cap.|||"PCI Express x16" is actually 1.1
