How do check if my computer can run a PCI Express 2.0 x16 video card?

It's a Dell Inspiron 530 that I've had for a few years and I never upgraded the video card. By right clicking my computer and clicking properties I see some of my specs

That should get you to here: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/sy… which tells you that your computer has a PCI Express 1.0A x16 slot. Since PCI Express 2 is backwards compatible, that means you can use a PCI Express 2.0 video card. While you're here, you can also look at the power supply- your computer has a 300W power supply, which isn't much. Certainly not enough to get a mid-range or high-end graphics card (you can get a much better one than you do have though).
