Why won't the drivers for my new pci-express video card work?

I recently purchased a FOXCONN 8400GS-256 GeForce 8400 GS 256MB GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Video Card.

When i installed it it took almost 5 min for vista to boot up normally with my old pci card in was 10 sec and then when i went to install the drivers included in the cd it won't work. i went to fox conns website and downloaded all of the vista 32 bit drivers i could find and none of them worked. the nvidia screen came up and said no hardware was found that needed to be installed. i went to nvidia's website and downloaded their drivers and it still didn't work. then i upgraded my chipset drivers from asus becasue when i went to the device manager it lists like 10 differently pci-pci bridge issues.

this is the second pci-e card i have tried without success and similar issues. can anyone help.|||did you uninstall your previous drivers first?.

also check device manager, and under video adapters, right click your card (or whatever happens to be showing) and "remove" it

then boot up..cancel out of the the new hardare found wizard , then run the new drivers .exe|||Not to sound 'smart', but are you absolutely sure that your motherboard is able to accept a PCI-E card?? Especially if you have tried more than one brand of cards...

What kind of computer do you have? Manufacturer and model (i.e. HP 5860, etc)
