Video card connected to mobo pci-e x16 running at x4?

Hi, i've a 8800gts connected to a mobo w/ a pci-e x16 slot running at x4 maximum (p5vdc-x) is this somehow causing a performance "bottleneck" or hindering my performance? if this is so, im changing boards. Please help...|||http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l…

Because your motherboard also has an AGP slot the PCIe implementation was made that way.

Budget and slower mainstream cards would have no problem w/ that x4 PCIe. BUT it will bottleneck high-end cards like the 8800GTS. Run 3D Mark 05 or 06. If your scores are way below these, your card is getting bottlenecked:

Take note that an overclocked C2Duo set up was used to rule out any bottlenecking that may be caused by the processor.

For reference, 11,650 marks in 3D Mark 05 or 5,550 marks in 3D Mark 06 is typical for the next lower series 8600GTS.|||No, it won't hinder your performance. Video card can't barely saturate the 4x slot let alone the 16x.
