Will a pci express x16 card fit into a pci express 2.0 x16 slot?

I have a Zotac GeForce 8500 GT video card and I'm trying to find a new motherboard and I was wondering if my video card would fit into a pci express 2.0 x16 slot.|||yea that's called backward compatibility

so you can fix PCI -E x16 (1.1 ) Card to 2.0 slot or vise versa.!

but I have no idea about PCI-E x16 1.0 (ONLY! 1.1v)|||Yes it will.

PCIe2.0 is just a PCIe with double the bandwidth, meaning that it can transfer information at faster speeds. The old, non 2.0 card will fit on the slot and work just fine.|||pci-expressx16 and pci-expressx16 2.0 are

the same thing.2.0 is

version of pci-express

slot.much like 1.0,1.1

and latest 2.1.all are

of equal length and

backward compatible

with each other.so

you can use any pci-e

2.0 card with pci-e 1.1

and so on.2.0 increases the bandwidth over 1.0.

any cheap mobo with

1 pci-ex16 slot will

take your 8500GT.
