i bought a pci e x16 video card yesterday and i tried to put it in but there wasnt enough room to put it in...the card was too big...are all pci e x16 cards that big or what do i need to do? btw it is a pci e x16 slot it would fit fine but the metal part on the end of the card takes up too much room|||No, they are not all that long.
You probably have an 8800 or 9800 series card.
Tell us what inside your tower is blocking the card ... if it's a hard drive you may be able to displace it.

Philip T|||Something must be in the way. Se if one of the brackets which hold it in are still pushed down from your previous card. If everything is clear, make sure the card does not have any defect etc. because the PCI-E x16 port may have been affected.
