Yes, as there are many versions out there for graphics, though that one is the best till they come out with a better one.
There are slower versions of pci exress like 8x that work fine, but not as good as 16x. The older style before them was AGP, and before that, PCI, and ISA before that. Anymore, they are all made for pci express 16x.
