I have pci-express x16 slot for graphic card?8800gt or higher require 2.0 x16. help!!!!!!!!!!!?

wherever i see 8800 gt or a high power video card requires a slot given as-

2.0 x16 pci-express.

now i have-pci-expressx16 slot. my motherboard is 945GCM3 chipset.

i already have 7200 gs installed on my pc. it's very very poor gfx card.

now i wanna buy a 88000gt or higher, will it will be installable???????

also tell difference between 2.0x16 and x16 pci-express slots???helpppp|||they are both compatible|||Yes it will still run as long as it is PCIe X16 doesn't matter if it is that or 2.0 or 3.0.

The difference is in the mother board and transfer rates. The 2.0 on the card is just saying that if your motherboard is 2.0 then you will get that transfer rate with this card. Here's the break down:

PCIe X16

1.0 = 1.25GHZ clock speed 2.5 GT/s Transfer rate 250mb Data rate

2.0 = 2.5GHZ C.S. 5 GT/s TR 500mb DR

3.0 = 4GHZ C.S. 8 GT/s TR 1GB DR|||Go Ahead get the card! PCIe is backward compatible|||there the same thing, its just the pci express port 0.2 runs faster that's all.

Nothing to worry about
