How do i switch my video card between my pci-e slots?

my mobo got two pci-e x16 slots and i want to switch my video card to the other slot. i tried switching but my monitor didnt display anything. what do i need to do so i can switch?|||Your second slot is used for SLI or Crossfire, using 2 video cards in tandem, you cant use the second one by itself, only if you install another Vid Card|||If both pci-e slots are functioning properly (the latter one may not be, for all I know) there aren't normally problems switching between them. There may be some driver installation heuristics that require that the drivers be reinstalled one you have switched, but I'm guessing you installed the card incorrectly in the second slot, or it is damaged. If you had connected everything properly in a functioning slot, windows would load basic drivers and boot with compromised graphics quality.|||There are 2 ways to do this. The first is probably the easiest.

Uninstall your video card and pull it out. Shut down your computer and switch the card. The computer should find new hardware when you start it up and you should be able to install the drivers for the card again in the new slot.

The other way, the harder way is depending on which OS you are using, you can go into CMOSS and actually tell the computer which express slot that you want to work strictly for video.

If you are using windows Vista, throw all of this away because Vista gives you no options to do anything and sucks.

The computer should have auto detected the card in the other slot, and the third option may be that you have 1 non functioning express slot due to being turned off in CMOSS or just not operating properly
