Can I run a video card and a sound card in both PCIe x16 slots?
I have a video card in one of the two x16 slots. Now I want to buy a good sound card and I was just wondering if there were any issues about having two different cards like that in both x16 slots...or should I fill one of the regular PCI slots?|||You should be able to to run both sound card and video cards on both x16 slots. Whether it is recommended or not, I'm not sure, but you are able to do both. I believe the best case if you were to only choose either for one PCI slot, I would suggest whichever you think is important for your system. So if I wanted quality audio sound, then I would get a good sound card that doesn't use the PCI slot, and vice versa. Hope this helps.|||There should be no issues. The only issue that could possibly happen would be if you have a very old video card and your motherboard only can run one PCIE slot at x16. Any newer card will be fine running at x1, but if you have an older video card make sure to put it in the first slot.|||well I don't think it should have any problems.... what sound card are you buying? can you provide a link?
